I still don’t do “RHOA,” but I am a faithful viewer of “Glee”and “New Normal;” both hit TV shows with NeNe Leakes in a recurring role. She keeps just enough of her sass and all of her southern charm to deliver stellar performances on both! My favorite of the two is her role as “Rocky” on “New Normal.” Though playing an assistant to Bryan–a gay television producer–is a bit expected and stereotypical, she amuses me with her just-as-flamboyant personality and diva aura that make him and her a hilarious and winning combo.
After tuning into both television series, I have a new respect for NeNe. She proved every naysayer, including myself, wrong. While I don’t necessarily agree with how she chose to brand herself on “RHOA,” my opinion or your opinion really doesn’t matter because it worked and she can now officially call herself an actress. What I like most about this never before seen side of NeNe is that she knows when to pull back and when to let things go completely. So often, people elevate to new heights but quickly fall down because they want to hold onto too much of their old lives. From what I hear, the on-the-rise starlet has turned a new leaf and simmered quite a bit on the reality TV side of things.
