Christian Siriano debuted his latest masterpiece otherwise known as his Spring 2014 collection. His inspiration was sparked by a recent vacation to Mexico.
“There was something so cool about the neon-painted houses and the women selling hand-woven baskets in tiny markets,” the designer said backstage before his runway show. (Via Style.com)
But this #NYFW season proved that the “Project Runway” alum could design for all occasions. There was a jacket and miniskirt gleaming with rainbow colors, a chiffon circle dress decorated with raffia palms, and bevy of floaty blouses and day party dresses perfect for any New York socialite.
There were still a few wow moments from Christian in the form of ostrich feathers and appliqué petals. His signature overdone garments are still at the heart of who he is as a designer, and most of us appreciate his creativity. But it was refreshing to see a wearable feminine, and chic collection of matching jacket and skirts, crop tops, and tea-length dresses–you know, those pieces that us regular girls wear everyday!
