Boko Haram, the militant group, which kidnapped more than 200 Nigerian schoolgirls in April, has not stopped wrecking havoc in Nigeria. According to reports, the group kidnapped the wife of Cameroon’s vice prime minister as well as her maid, who were both snatched from the official’s home. “I can confirm that the home of Vice Prime Minister Amadou Ali in Kolofata came under a savage attack from Boko Haram militants,” said Cameroon’s Information Minister Issa Tchiroma. The women are still missing.

The group is also reportedly responsible for a separate attack on religious leader Seini Boukar Lamine’s home where they kidnapped him and three other people. These kidnappings coincide with cross-border attacks between Boko Haram and the Cameroon’s army on Friday and Boko Haram’s massive takeover of Damboa, a northeastern town in Nigeria. According to reports, the takeover resulted in 15,000 people being displaced from their homes.

Boko Haram has executed hundreds of murders in Nigeria and this year and they are expected to still have many of the Nigerian school girls that were initially kidnapped, in captivity. Although some girls have escaped and even spoken out about their captivity, all of the girls are not home. One of the latest effort to keep the public aware of the schoolgirls and Cameroon in general has come from activist Malala Yousafzai who created the #StrongerThan social media campaign.
