During the final evening of the Democratic National Convention and on the heels of President Barack Obama‘s historic speechit was former secretary of state Hillary Clintons turn to shine and make her case why she should be the next president of the United States — and she did so with grace, eloquence, and strength.

After thanking her daughter, Chelsea Clinton, and her husband, former president Bill Clinton, in a smart and self-aware move, Clinton spent ample time reintroducing herself to America. She spoke in detail about her early life, her working, middle-class upbringing and her mother who worked as a maid. She also took pride in being the first woman ever to accept a major U.S. party’s presidential nomination.

“When there are no ceilings, the sky’s the limit,” Clinton said as the crowd in Philadelphia erupted.

“It is with humility, determination and boundless confidence in America’s promise that I accept your nomination for President of the United States,” she added.

She also thanked her colleagues — President Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders — for speaking on her behalf at the convention. Clinton also threw some serious and well-deserved shade at her opponent, Donald Trump, by questioning his temperament, his qualifications, his hatred, and his narcissism.

The 68-year-old even mocked Trump for saying he knows more about ISIS than military officials do, USA Today noted.

“No, Donald. You don’t,” she said with a deadpan look on her face.

“Don’t let anyone tell you our country is weak, we’re not. Don’t let anyone tell you we don’t have what it takes,” Clinton said. “Most of all, don’t believe anyone who says: ‘I alone can fix it,'” referring to Trump’s acceptance speech last week in Cleveland.

“Ask yourself: Do you really think Donald Trump has the temperament to be Commander-in-Chief? Donald Trump can’t even handle the rough-and-tumble of a presidential campaign. He loses his cool at the slightest provocation. When he’s gotten a tough question from a reporter. When he’s challenged in a debate. When he sees a protestor at a rally,” she stressed.

“A man you can bait with a tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons,” she said as the crowd rose to their feet.

But unlike her opponent, Clinton discussed what her plan for America entails, which included working on free tuition for colleges and universities, pledging to enact a “path to citizenship” for those living in this country illegally, creating more jobs, working with allies to combat terrorism, ensuring a higher minimum wage and equal pay for women in the workplace, taxing the one percent, and addressing systematic oppression in our nation.

But Clinton stressed, that it’s “up to us” if we truly want to make those social gains.

“America is once again at a moment of reckoning. Powerful forces are threatening to pull us apart. Bonds of trust and respect are fraying. And just as with our founders there are no guarantees. It truly is up to us. We have to decide whether we will all work together so we can all rise together,” she said.

“That is the story of America. And we begin a new chapter tonight. Yes, the world is watching what we do. Yes, America’s destiny is ours to choose. So let’s be stronger together. Looking to the future with courage and confidence. Building a better tomorrow for our beloved children and our beloved country. When we do, America will be greater than ever,” Clinton concluded.

And as her speech ended, she was joined by her family, running mate Tim Kaine, and his family as red, white, and blue balloons fell from the ceiling, the crowd standing on their feet.

After tonight’s acceptance speech and with history being made, are you ready to be “dealt in?”

Twitter definitely is:

In addition, the introduction video played before Clinton took the stage was made by none other than Shonda Rhimes and narrated by actor Morgan Freeman, both huge Clinton supporters.

Shonda recently told People, “As a writer who builds characters for a living, it was exciting to take an actual human being and pieces of who she is and see how it builds a person and her character, why she is who she is.”

She added, “Given the Trumpiness of the world today, we felt like we were doing the work of angels.”
