There are few things more romantic than the idea of running off with the one you love to say “I do.”

Elopement is not what it used to be years ago when the word was often shaded with disapproval and negativity. Now, eloping is more something that many couples choose to do because they want to get married in a simple, intimate fashion.

Getting eloped isn’t for everyone, but neither are large and lavish weddings. For the committed couple that really loves to be a little spontaneous, it’s not a bad option. A word of advice, though: you might want to bring along a couple of your friends since most places will require you to have at least two witnesses for your fly-by-night wedding.

Las Vegas

Ok! This one is kind of cliché, but think about why. Tons of people get married in Las Vegas every day. The city is teeming with little wedding chapels where couples can get hitched at a moment’s notice. It should be easy enough to find the kind of setting that’s right for you and your honey to wed. And once the nuptials are done, thee happy couple is one of the party capitals of the world!

Park City, Utah

Utah might not be the first place you think of when coming up with romantic locations to tie the knot, but don’t count it out! Park City, Utah, has two different ski resorts where you can tie the knot. As a matter of fact, Deer Valley Resort is even known for its spectacular elopement in a cozy setting. And getting hitched at this time of year means you’ll have a winter wonderland as the backdrop for one of the biggest moments of your life. WhereToElope.com states that all you need to wed in Utah is a valid marriage license from a county clerk, which only costs $40. After that you can run to the altar.

New Orleans

You might want to roll on down to the Big Easy if you can’t wait to get married! According to BestOfNewOrleans.com, couples can choose to waive the 72-hour waiting period here as long as you have your marriage license, so you can pretty much get married as soon as you decide to tie the knot. And instead of wedding cake, you and your new spouse can split a pile of beignets! Sounds super sweet to us!

Miami

Bievenido a matrimonio! Couples looking to wed in Florida only need to get a marriage license from the country clerk. The good news here is that couples need not be Florida residents to get a marriage license, and out-of-state couples can get married as soon as it is issued. That means that couples with the required paper work can get up and mark this Valentine’s Day on the sandy, sun-drenched beaches of Miami. For couples with a wee bit more time, there’s even a website called ElopeToMiami.com dedicated to setting up your surprise nuptials.

Napa Valley

Wine Country might be the place for you to wed if you’re ready to jump the broom! With sprawling landscapes and superb spirits, Napa Valley has ambience to spare for your wedding. The best part? You don’t even need to be from California to enjoy a wedding in Wine Country, but you will need a confidential or public marriage license issued by any county clerk. If you can wait a few more days, Run Away With Me even lets you pick the style of your wedding.

BONUS: Turks & Caicos

You can’t get hitched in this paradise tomorrow unfortunately. Couples are required to stay in the Turks & Caicos for at least three days before they can get married, and they have to stay three more days after the ceremony so that their marriage license can be processed. However, this just means that you already have your bachelorette party, wedding, and honeymoon all wrapped up into one trip.
