We guess no one will be wanting to meet this R&B singer at the alter anytime soon. Jagged Edge member Kyle Norman was arrested early this morning on aggravated assault charges. According to reports, Norman viciously beat his fiance and then attempted to shove her engagement ring down her throat!

Police were called about a fight between an engaged couple: Norman and his fiance. When they arrived, Norman’s fiance said she had gotten into an argument with him about his drinking. According to police reports, the victim’s eyes had welts under them and there was a golf ball-sized knot on her upper left forehead. There was also a cut under her nose and a blood clot in her right eye. She explained to the police that Norman had punched and choked her with a scarf and tried to put her engagement ring down her throat. He also took her car keys and broke her cell phone, refusing to let her leave the house.

She told the police that he started to calm down when she agreed to the things he was saying. Norman then walked away and she ran to grab his phone and call their neighbor, where she retreated to call the police. An officer saw Norman running down the sidewalk and as he pulled up, Norman turned around and shouted, “I need to go to jail.” Norman told police he was upset about his dad having cancer and that’s the reason he got so mad at his fiance.

Norman’s fiance has been treated at Atlanta Medical Center and Norman was taken to jail and charged with aggravated assault. Wow. There’s a bigger conversation here about a Black man’s pain. If what Norman said about his father’s cancer diagnosis is true, then he’s obviously dealing with some misplaced anger and aggression. While Kyle’s devastation over his father is heartbreaking, there’s no excuse for domestic violence.

Kyle also had a violent run-in with fellow crooner, Sisqo last year backstage at a concert, so we know he’s working with some anger issues. Eeek. Here’s hoping he gets the help he needs.
