A Guinean student has been placed under quarantine after they brought Ebola to Senegal.

Senegal closed it’s borders to Guinea about a week ago in an effort to keep the deadly virus from infecting their county, CNN.com. Unfortunately, they took action a too late. The nation cracked down on travel to and from Guinea on August 21 after the worst outbreak of Ebola ever occurred. Senegal also shut down air and water travel between its borders and Sierra Leone and Liberia.

Senegal has become the fifth country to be hit by the virus.

According to the Senegalese Press Agency, it was discovered that a college student from Guinea has been infected Ebola. Senegal had been informed of the breach after Guinean officials alerted their neighbor that it lost track of the 21-year-old man, who popped up at Fann Hospital in Dakar for a check up.

The unidentified man hasn’t shown any sign of bleeding, but he’s been placed under quarantine. He’s currently in stable condition.

Stateside, colleges in South Carolina and North Dakota are screening students that have come from Africa. UptowMnagazine.com reports that the Centers for Disease Control haven’t told schools to test for the disease, but state health departments have outlined what symptoms of Ebola look like and how cases should be handled.
