Trey Songz doesn’t need to hide behind elaborate equipment or auto-tune machines, he has a simple “mobile” studio in his Beverly Hills home where he creates his musical masterpieces. Yup, that means “Invented Sex,” “I Need A Girl,” “Heart Attack” were created in his house.

The R&B crooner let #TeamBeautiful into his sacred place for our inaugural InterludesLIVE event in LA where he gave us some insight behind the makings of his latest single “Smart Phones” and opened up about his creating process.

“The song grows harmoniously as it goes,” Trey told Interludes host Smokey Fontaine. “Smart Phones” will be featured on his forthcoming album “Trigga.” Watch Trey get candid about his creative process above.

Catch Trey Songz’s full interview (and watch him perform hits like “SmartPhones” and “NaNa”) on HelloBeautiful InterludesLIVE this Saturday, June 21 at 10pm on TVOne. We’ll be live tweeting the show on Saturday @HelloBeautiful, be sure to join us!
