Morris Chestnut’s Instagram page has become a fashion portfolio with looks along the promo trail for his new medical drama “Watson.” Chestnut stars as John H. Watson — a brilliant doctor who returns to his medical practice after the death of his partner, Sherlock Holmes. What differentiates this medical TV series from others is the element of investigation. Watson and his staff aren’t just solving medical mysteries, they’re solving crimes.

“The one thing I love about this character is it’s an opportunity to draw from the rich iconic mythology of Sherlock Holmes,” he explained. “Another thing that I feel that makes it different when the story opens up Sherlock Holmes is dead – he’s given Watson this clinic to solve medical mysteries. As doctors, we solve these medical mysteries inside the clinic. However, Sherlock Holmes is a huge influence on Watson and the show so we also go outside of the hospital to gather information as detectives to solve these mysteries. We’re doctors inside and detectives outside. We’re doctectives.”

Working With J. Bolin

Celebrity stylist J. Bolin, who has worked with names like — Sarah Jake Roberts, SWV, Fantasia, and Michelle Willams — has kept the “Watson” lead in the finest tailored suits. “I love style and I love fashion,” the heartthrob revealed. “Morris stays home so much this is the only time I get to come out and really show how much I do love style and fashion. Working with J. Bolin is incredible. He has a very strong style and fashion sense that far surpasses mine, cause I don’t have one compared to him at all. So us working together has been great.”

In a fun and candid moment, Morris shared that if he could live the life of one of the many characters he played in his career, it would be Lance Sullivan from “The Best Man.”

“At this point, Lance Sullivan is retired. He’s lost his wife, but he’s retired, and he’s raising his kids, he’s going to live a good life even though I wouldn’t like the part about losing my wife – but I love the part that he is retired. So maybe Lance Sullivan.”

Catch “Watson” every Sunday night on CBS.
