Actress Nicole Kidman who pushed the boundaries in her latest film, an erotic thriller titled The Paperboy, got into a heated argument with “Precious” director Lee Daniels for refusing to say the N-word.
“Her character was supposed to say the N-word, and she wouldn’t say it,” Daniels told the New York Post.
“I was angry. My producer tells me, ‘Are you serious? She bends over a washing machine and takes it from John Cusack in the first day, she has telepathic sex with Cusack in prison on the second day, she urinates on Zac Efron on the third day, and you’re angry because she won’t say the N-word? Give the girl a break’.
“I said, ‘Alright’.”
Kidman stars as a sex-crazed woman who is involved with a much-younger love interest played by co-star Zac Efron.
In case you didn’t know, Nicole is the mother of a black son she shares with ex-husband Tom Cruise, so she might’ve been really uncomfortable using the derogratory term.
