I hav a good job with tatts on my arms, neck, chest, and thigh. I think they are sexy and so do alot of other people. I have a degree and every employer I have had has always judged me on my resume not my tatts. I am proud of who I am and what I have on my body and if someone does not like it they can look away.

In my own opinion, at the end of the day.. everyone is their own person and I believe that some people show their individuality through body art… I see it as this, a lot of people get tattoos for many reasons. Most people that I know, get them because they just simply want them.. I have a tattoo, but before I got it, I spent a year thinking about location and subject. First, my tattoo is for me, so I wanted it in a location that I can easily see. So while visible, I didn’t want anything that would embarrass me in a professional situation (I’m a teacher), look tacky in an evening gown, or cause an uncomfortable conversation in 40 years when I have to explain it to my grandchildren. I ended up placing my tattoo on my left wrist. While it is clearly visible when I want it to be, it is also easily covered by a watch.

I have one tattoo on my upper thigh (my name) and I have never gotten another tattoo, nor have I ever felt the urge to get another one! I think it is a followers thing though or at least alot of the time (not always) but just like clothes, purses, hair styles…tats have been copied by peeps because they see “somebody” else’s and think its cute to do. I got one when i was 17 and hate it to this day…a random act, was’nt sure what i wanted it to be or why. A tramp stamp is a tattoo on a woman’s lower back. I believe that the stereotype originated due to the number of easy college girls you see sporting them during Spring Break. Then the term became even more popular when it was used in a movie.

Who are you to judge tacky, back in the ancient time tattoos symoblized a persons role in the community, now days they are pretty much a statement of ones individuality. People should be able to get tattoos anywhere they want, for some people their tattoos even have a personal story behind them, or a spritual meaning behind them, ofcourse just like with anything else one should not go overboard with them. You say it’s hard to find a job with a tattoo.. most of you who say that don’t have any tattoos so who are you to say that it’s harder to find jobs? Also, people said many time it would be hard to find a job because my name (Kwaneisha) sounds like a ghetto ass name, thats a negetive. Further more this is a new age and a new day if you or anyone else judges people based on tattoos and dont want to see the person they truely are then maybe you should be looking at yourself… Bottom line is people get judge based on everything including color, race, clothes, shoes, ect.. As far as having a tattoo and being professional it all works for me. My stamp is only shown to my significant other never to random men, so therefore, any man that can’t handle seeing women with tattoos can kick rock. I think tattoos are sexy on a woman. I love the tramp stamp, tatts on the breast, across the stomach…I mean, people get tattoos for different symbolic reasons. However the one thing I do agree on is to never get a tattoo of a lover tatted on you because if the two of you were to break up, you are stuck with that name on you unless you get it covered up with another tattoo or getting it removed. So in conclusion, I think women with tattoos are appealing and sexy to me especially the tramp stamp across the lower back….! But people have their opinions so I’m just voicing mine.

@LunaEarthGoddes it’s amazing that you sound so defensive of women choice in marking their bodies. Learning our history is important. That way we can learn the mistakes from the past and not repeat them. What’s happening here is that it’s becoming rare for a woman not to have any tattoos and for her not to follow trends that others are doing. Considering that there are more women that are becoming leaders, why follow what other people are doing for the sake of showing someone else art work on your body? Most African people, especially where we come from don’t have tattoos.

I’m defensive because I think it’s wrong to judge people based on tattoos and so what, there are less women without them, does that make them any better of a woman because they dont have tattoo? Does that make a woman with a tattoo any less of a woman then one without them? It’s about having a certain standard in life. Sure you can always be about you, but unfortunately, we don’t live in a you world. The actions that you do to yourself creates a chain reaction for next generations to follow. If women continue to disrespect their bodies in this generation, what are you telling your children how they should respect the temples God gave them?

The argument about people judging others with a tattoo is a failure since no one is judging them. When you are criticized for an action you’ve taken, it’s not judging you. It’s a matter of stating ones opinion about what you factually did. As I stated before, I don’t find women with a bunch of tats attractive. To find a woman that will respect her body is getting harder to find. Once you decide to violate your body, who’s to say that it wouldn’t be hard for you to receive the mark of the beast?

There is nothing sexier than a woman that doesn’t follow the crowd. Tattoos are ridiculous and unnecessary. why deface your body with ink? maybe I am old school, but my daughters and my son will not get any tattoos until they are grown and then it will be without my approval.

I only have one tattoo, and its something meaningful to me, its my granddads initials and the year he was born and died. Its on my inner wrist so I can cover it up, by bracelets and watches, its nothing huge. I like it and it something important to me. I know that its something my granddad would haven’t approved of, but with just losing him it was a crazy spur of the moment thing. I don’t regret it but I could have probably did without it tho.

The bible states that our body is Gods temple and we should not pierce or put any type of markings on it. But on a professional take on the matter people should be mindful where they put tattoos. A tattoo that can’t be covered with clothing can cause you not to get a job. Just think about some just aren’t cute and some just go over board with them.

I have the infamous “tramp stamp” but it’s meaningful to me. I think women should be careful about where they get tats especially if they’re in a professional field. There is a stigma but I am college educated and classy so people really can’t judge from the outside. I plan on getting two more but they will be small and in discreet places. No one can tell that I have 2 tattoos when I go to work everyday. It’s all about how you present yourself. I have to agree about women getting neck tattoos. That’s a definitely no-no.

This article is clearly talking about places where someone may view you different because of the location and the type of making you have. A tattoo can be pure and meaningful for a person that may need to remember something during that period in their lives. For the most part, having to pay for someone else artwork on your body is something that people are free to do. Again, women were created for men. Your bodies are already perfect before the tats. Having a huge tattoo that’s the shape of a genital or other sexual things don’t work well in a professional arena. That’s where things have gotten out of hand.

I think its Leviticus 19:28 that mentions body mutilations in kind of a general sense. The bible dont name tattoos because thats a name we created for it, but it does say dont mark your body. One, a tattoo on the a$$ isn’t meant to be “classy.” Anybody that sees the tattoo on your a$$ is either someone you want to show your a$$ to or that thong swimsuit you’re wearing shows it. I’ve already done 2 on this list and I regret neither. I love my tramp stamp and it is even in Chinese. I got it there for a specific reason and I took Chinese for 4 years so I know what it means. My tramp stamp is the only tattoo that is bigger than the size of a post it note. If you get a tattoo on a whim because someone dared you then I think it is foolish.

I don’t get why so many people are getting all worked up over a personal choice. I happen to have 10 tattoos and plan on getting several more and I’m one of the youngest people in my region to obtain a PhD…Tattoos are a choice for an individual to make. First of all, to each his own. But as for me… Personally, I find women without tattoos much more attractive, especially nowadays when it seems that just about everyone is getting them. Non-tattooed skin has become somewhat of a novelty.

There was a time in my life when I considered getting a tattoo. But I didn’t do it because I couldn’t think of anything that was so important to me that I wanted it on my skin for the rest of my life. I certainly felt that a tattoo is nothing to be impulsive about. That kind of consideration seems to be very rare amongst today’s youth.

In a separate article, I read that Rhianna recently got a French-language tattoo done on her neck, supposedly without even first checking whether or not it was grammatically correct. That’s a prime example of how seriously much of today’s youth take tattoos that last a lifetime.

“7 Places Women Should Never Get Tattoos” Really? Seriously? HB, women can do whatever they want. Just who the hell does HB think they are, telling people not to get tat? With that said…I have none & I’m not getting any. For me, it’s right along the lines of getting a bunch of piercings. I don’t need tattoos & I have all the openings I need.

1st of all when a woman puts tats on her breast, she must want them to be seen when wearing low cut shirts or it wouldnt be there. 2nd tats on the ass is not tacky its on an area that only you and hopefully only your lover will see. If a woman wants her man tatooed on her thats her business they dont always break up afterwards thats a myth she can always get it removed or covered. As for the thigh how the hell is sum1 gonna see a tat on a thigh in a gown or a dress duh! stupid. And i think tramp stamps are the most common on a woman and its not s**tty depending on what it says or what it is. Nothing is wrong with tats on the neck either, as long as its cute and small. I’m over the`tattoo craze seems like everybody’s got them and it AIN’T for everyone!and all of y’all getting offended by the topic of course it’s your body and you can get whatever wherever that don’t make it look good, y’all put something on your body for attention and when people comment on it weather good or bad keep rolling because you can’t tell us how to think!. My opinion is that it is tacky, and tasteless for a woman to put tats on certain places on their bodies. I worked with a lady who had gotten a tat when she was young. When she got older she tried to hide it all the time. She had to wear long sleeves all the time @ work. Most of u who comment in favor of tats probably have one or more. I LOVE tattoos and I LOVE men with tattoos. I hate when I meet an awesome guy and he doesn’t have any and I think women who don’t have tattoos are boring. Sorry. Just saying. If someone isn’t going to talk to me or be with me because I have tats (9 and counting by the way) then that is cool with me. I got a tramp stamp or whatever you want to call it! that is the best place to put it. you can cover it up! it’s better than placing it on your arms or legs or worse your chest. the tattoo placed at the dip of our back is sexy! everything a woman does has to be sexual why if a guy gets a tattoo on his arm or leg they don’t call him it a buck or stud stamp.i ‘m not erasing or covering up my tattoo. I got my tattoo 8 yrs ago when I son went off to school.  Small rose - one falling leaf with his name it (simple but visible) above my ankle.  Back then it was my symbol for letting him go and start living my life for me.  When I look at it now, I wish I would have just giving him a Momma’s hug, and let him go without the symbol of the tattoo. 

Nevertheless…he will be the only male species in this lifetime, I know with all the air I breath that will love me forever.

I don’t have any tatts, and this is all because I say a 60 something year old woman with tatts on her back and legs, wearing short shorts and a halter top, looking all kinds of trashy. As a woman I told my self never will I ever get one. On top of that I see sooo many ppl with tatts, I don’t even want one now. I rather be different and not get one, since damn near everyone in the world is getting them. Plus my man, has most of his upper body tatted up! Arms, chest and most of his back. I agree with not getting tats on your face and with your man’s name, but I have my daughter’s name on my wrist and I love tattoos. I also have one on my lower back of a  small butterfly (too small to be a tramp stamp) and a cherry on the back of my neck, but I was 21 at the time.

 I don’t like tats and it looks tacky on some people especially if they have too many. And, it’s look ugly after you hit your old age years. I told my kids that if they every get tats on their body any where. They had to get out and stay out. I believe that your body is a holy temple of God and it should not be marked on for no reason whatsoever. Guess what, they listen. And, also one of my associate’s relative had tattoos and later found out that he had hepatitis. He got it from tattoos needles/dyes and he did not know that he had it until he went to the doctor. My associate told me that her relative wished that he never got tattoos on his body. The dye leaks into your blood streams and he thought that the needles has been sterilize. Just to show you everything is not safe.

Excuse me, I have 5 tattoos I don’t regret any of them. Actually all of my tattoos have meaning I have a tattoo for my dad, one for my mother, one for my grandma when she passed and tattoos for both of my kids. I make alot of money  tattooing durring the summer and teaching in the fall. I am a preschool teacher and most if not all of my colleagues in both professions have tattoos. Also, I am happily married to a neonatal surgeon who also has tattoos and makes alot more money then you. So you tell me what “kind of woman” I am.
