Shonda Rhimes is one of the most powerful women in Hollywood period, and Entertainment Weekly is reminding anyone who may have forgotten by featuring ShondaLand this week! This is just in time for Rhimes’ fall takeover, which includes Scandal, How to Get Away With Murder, Grey’s Anatomy, and the forthcoming newbie, The Catch. Yaaaassss.

Check out the covers:

EW also interviewed the TGIT crew. Here are a few key snippets:

Viola Davis on colorism in the entertainment industry: “You have to come from Detroit or Atlanta to be Black. If you have John Denver on your iPod and you come from Central Falls, Rhode Island, then: Eh, you trickle-down black woman.”

Kerry Washington on why it’s different to work for a female showrunner: “I was talking to an actress who’s pregnant and really worried about telling her bosses, and I said, ‘Yeah, when I told my boss I was pregnant, she literally jumped up and down in my trailer.’ I don’t know if there’s a male showrunner who would do that.”

Shonda Rhimes also talked about how her parents are totally gladiators in real life. To get the full interview, you have to cop an EW.

P.S. This ShondaLand cover comes at a much needed time. The diversity report in Hollywood is still grim, especially for women of color. According to a new diversity report, Black and Latina women are more likely to star in films if they are dressed in sexy attire. Smh.
