Ray Rice can immediately hit the field again as his suspension from the NFL has been lifted.

According to multiple reports, Ray won his appeal and he’s been reinstated to the league after just two months. A rep for the NFL player’s union said in a brief statement that “the suspension has been vacated.”

He was indefinitely suspended from the NFL back in September just hours after the Baltimore Ravens cut him from the team.

While Ray is once again eligible to play for the NFL, he must first find a team that is willing to pick him up. That may be easier said than done as his name is still pretty much ruined in the league, and many teams know that it would be bad PR to add him to their roster. Aside from that it is very late in the season.

This was not an entirely unexpected outcome, as many of Ray’s supporters believe that he was punished twice for the same offense after video of him knocking out his wife Janay Rice hit the Web this summer.

Initially he was only suspended for two games and made to pay a fine. Much of the public demanded that the NFL do more than that, arguing that it was an unacceptable punishment for documented domestic violence.

It’s possible for the NFL to appeal the arbitration in Ray’s favor, but sports commentators don’t think its very likely that officials will fight this. One ESPN reporter even revealed that although the NFL doesn’t seem excited about this development, they’re not interested in dragging this matter out any further.
