There’s a website/magazine called Elixher.com that posted 25 photos of loving lesbian couples for Valentine’s Day (inspired by Buzzfeed’s 25 Beautiful Photos Of Queer Men Of Color That Will Make You Believe In Love Again.) These photos are a celebration of queer love, or as the site’s creator, Kimberley McLeod says, “celebrating our love — our love of self, our love of other Black queer women, and everything in between.”

This amazing site is dedicated to creating empowering, thought-provoking and pertinent content to the Black female queer community and experience. On the site, there’s uplifting profiles, local events, political commentary, personal reflections and more.
So where did Elixher come from? McLeod grew weary of working in the media for years and seeing a lack of multidimensional representations of Black queer women, so she created Elixher to fill that void. After cruising the groundbreaking site, I can see the major waves that McLeod is making with Elixher and I will be coming back on a daily, checking on stories that are important to the LGBTQ community.
