The magazine interviewed the Compton native in August, around the time everyone was super hyped about his then just-released “Control” verse where he called out fellow artists like Drake. He said he’s “pretty cool” with the Young Money rapper but added, “I mean, I would be okay if we weren’t.”

And as far as why he attended Diddy’s VMA aftershow party and not the main event, he said: “I only go when there’s a point. Usually the point is just niggas drinking. But walking through the club the week after I released the ‘Control’ verse? That’s a point!”
