Since Saturday’s love-filled live moment, birthday greetings and well wishes have poured in from news outlets, celebrity friends, and fans. We’re not surprised. Queen Latifah, whose real name is Dana Elaine Owens, has left an indelible mark on entertainment, fashion, music, culture, and everything in between. Literally, everything she touches turns to gold. On the scene as one of the first famous femcees, the Newark native fearlessly addressed social issues through her music, inspiring women to embrace their strength. She demanded respect and helped redefine Black women’s femininity—and continued this aim through memorable performances in film and TV. Her roles in “Set It Off,” “Living Single,” and “Girl’s Trip” will never be forgotten.Queen Latifah is a fashion girlie known to slay.

Queen Latifah played with a whimsy professional look while hosting the NAACP’s big night. She chose a brown suit dress with a dramatic bow-neck tie from Christian Siriano for one of her looks. The queen’s gown is fresh off the runway and was presented during the designer’s Fall/Winter 2024 NYFW presentation.
2. Gilded Gold & Black

We are swooning over the queen’s black gown from Harbison Studio. Fitting her like a glove, the dress features exaggerated gilded gold buttons, an ivory bust detail, and a dramatic red cape.

Queen Latifah gave a garden-inspired glamour look on Saturday, March 16. Rocking Oscar de la Renta, she looked fabulous in a sheer and rhinestone beaded leaf print gown with a slight sheer cape and nude underlay.
4. Purple Is The Color Of Royalty

Queen Latifah reigned in light purple during the 55th NAACP Image Awards. Wearing an over-the-top scalloped duster dress from Georges Hobeika, the queen oozed royalty.
