Michael B. Jordan Sinners: Wunmi Mosaku And Hailee Trusted Me
Michael B. Jordan, Wunmi Mosaku, And Hailee Steinfeld Found Vulnerability In One Another In ‘Sinners’

What’s better than one Michael B. Jordan? Two!
On April 18, we’ll be able to watch Michael B. Jordan bite into a dual role of twins, Smoke and Stack – World War I veterans who face a sexy, bloody, and unearthly homecoming in Sinners. Michael B. Jordan and Wunmi Mosaku and Hailee Steinfeld play lovers in the genre-fluid, vampiric thriller, written and directed by the incomparable Ryan Coogler. Sinners marks Jordan and Coogler’s fifth director-actor collaboration, following the cinematic gold of films like Fruitvale Station, Black Panther, and Creed.

The film, set in the 1930s Jim Crow South, follows the SmokeStack twins who’ve returned to the Mississippi Delta after years of working as mobsters in Chicago.
As if it wasn’t already exciting to watch MBJ, he’s playing opposite a beautiful and familiar face, our March cover star and BAFTA winner, Wunmi Mosaku. The Lovecraft Country actress plays Annie, a wise and commanding spiritual guide whose deep and complex romance with Smoke resurfaces after years of distance.

Annie’s not the only one with unfinished business to address with the twins. Oscar nominee, Hailee Steinfeld plays Mary, who demands answers from her past lover, Stack —who’s back in their hometown after seven years of being away.
Annie and Mary are both strong women who keep the twins on their toes, but they also expose the twins’ softer side in ways that no one else can.
“These female characters are such a beautiful extension of Smoke and Stack, and it was so fun, in the moments that the four of us were together, [to] play with that, and play on that, and play off of each other.” Steinfeld told HelloBeautiful.
We chatted with Jordan, Mosaku, and Steinfeld about the bond they built on set and the ways in which they were able to bring their characters’ chemistry and romance to life.
The bond between the three actors was infectious as they spoke highly of each other. Jordan illustrated how the trio was able to create authentic moments on screen.
“There’s a lot of trust and vulnerability that doesn’t always happen when you’re at work and I just feel honored and blessed that these two ladies trusted me and I trusted them.”
