Fashion lovers have long known Christian Siriano’s name. From his Project Runway days to his reign as a red carpet favorite, he has built a fashion empire defined by drama, elegance, and fun. His designs have graced the most influential figures in Hollywood, from Viola Davis and Rihanna to Nicki Minaj and Danielle Brooks. Even First Lady Michelle Obama, Katie Holmes, Laverne Cox, and Oprah Winfrey have turned to the beloved designer for his signature blend of sophistication and whimsy.

What sets Christian apart is his commitment to dressing everyone—regardless of size, background, or aesthetic. His designs make people feel confident and celebrated.

“Representation is important because that’s the world we live in,” Christian told HelloBeautiful. “It’s very important to see all of that, especially on a runway with beautiful clothes. Because it also shows the rest of the world that it can be done and that it’s a good thing. It doesn’t hurt anybody to celebrate a person. It never has.”

Christian Siriano Talks To ‘HB’ Ahead Of His Fall-Winter 2025 NYFW Show

We caught up with Christian as he finalized the last details of his Fall/Winter 2025 collection at New York Fashion Week on Feb. 6. Dressed in all black, he moved effortlessly between directing models, greeting friends and supporters, and perfecting the finishing touches. The moments before a runway show are chaotic, but Christian handled them with ease like a seasoned pro.

Just minutes after our chat, the designer unveiled an electrifying collection that was, quite literally, red hot. The event space was drenched in red—from the chairs and runway to the roses and even a car displayed in the center of the room. Guests left with red bags containing umbrellas, further driving home the theme.

“The whole idea is this kind of automotive, aerodynamic movement,” Christian explained. “The auto world is often seen as very masculine, but what about making it feminine? Everybody knows that iconic red car—but what about the iconic red dress? How do they marry each other?”

Christian’s Fall/Winter 2025 collection embodied movement in concept and execution. Models, including the ever-iconic Winnie Harlow, glided down the runway in sculptural silhouettes, high-shine oil slick vinyls, iridescent silks, metallic lamé, reflective sequins, and abstract embroidery mimicking tire tracks. Each look exuded power, beauty, and fluidity, proving that fashion and art are one and the same.

“I think this collection has a lot for a lot of different types of people,” Christian shared. “It’s quite diverse—you can kind of find something you would wear.”

One standout piece was a breathtaking electric blue sequin tuxedo-style dress that balanced structure with playfulness. The oversized sequins and a flowy yet tailored cut made it a must-have for a night out.

Christian Admits To Still Working On Self-Care

For over 15 years, Christian has been a force in fashion, a movement in his own right. In an industry that can be resistant to change, he continues to champion diversity and beauty in all forms. But even with his undeniable success, staying relevant while maintaining his signature aesthetic is no easy feat.

“That is the hardest part,” he admitted. “Because there are always new ideas out there, and people want to dress a different way. One minute, an actress wants to be vintage, and the next, she wants to be super modern. So we have to balance that.”

Speaking of balance, when it comes to self-care, Christian is working on it.

“I wish! I buy antique furniture on the weekends,” he laughed when asked about his self-care routine.

“But no, I don’t know, I need more self-care.” He added, “I sketch a lot, and I think that’s my little escape—just sketching and painting.”

Christian Siriano’s recent collection is proof that fashion is more than clothes. It’s always been about impact, inclusivity, and evolution. With another show-stopping collection under his belt, Christian – much like his clothes – is showing no signs of slowing down.
