Halle Bailey Celebrates Her Son Halo's First Birthday

Halle Bailey’s little prince, Halo, just turned one! The new mom took to social media to share this special milestone with fans and friends.

“365 days ago my baby came can’t believe he’s 1!! Will post more later today,” Halle posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), sharing an adorable mommy-and-me selfie with newborn Halo.

Halo’s dad, DDG, also joined the celebration by posting sweet moments from the family festivities on Snapchat. The proud co-parents sported matching outfits and were surrounded by family and friends.  

In one touching clip, Halle gets visibly emotional while singing “Happy Birthday” to their little boy.

‘The World Is Desperate To Know You’: Halle Welcomes Halo In December 2023

Halo made his grand entrance in December 2023, following months of speculation, social media commentary, and buzz about the Disney star’s pregnancy. Halle officially introduced him to the world this January with a touching Instagram post:

“Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me was bring me my son.. welcome to the world, my halo 🥰👼🏽 ✨the world is desperate to know you 😉🤣♥️.”

At Essence’s Black Women in Hollywood event in March, Halle opened up about her decision to keep her pregnancy and early motherhood private. She shared:

“There was no way in hell I was going to share the biggest joy of my world with anyone. Halo was my gift. He is the greatest blessing, and I had no obligation to expose him, me, or my family to that,” Halle told the crowd while standing beside her sister, Chloe Bailey.

Halle continued, “With the state of the world and the place it is in with men trying to force their will on our bodies, no one on social media, and for damn sure, no one on the planet, was going to tell me what to do with my body or what to share with the world.”

Halle Bailey’s Sister Chloe Loves Being An Auntie – And We Don’t Blame Her

Auntie Chloe has been just as excited to celebrate Halo’s big milestone. Recently, she told People, “I’m super excited for Halo’s first birthday. I’ve been getting him a lot of gifts—maybe too many! Being an auntie is my favorite thing in the world.”

The “In Pieces” singer also took to social media with love for Halo. Her Instagram stories are filled with endearing moments, from selfies to sing-alongs.

Chloe, who often gushes over her role as Halo’s aunt, has been by Halle’s side throughout the year. She has stood up for her sister while helping Halle navigate motherhood and showering Halo with love and attention.

Halle Bailey Inspires Young Black Mothers Everywhere, We Are Here For Her (And Halo!)

Over the past year, Halle has shared her journey as a new mom, juggling work, family time, and motherhood. In October, she opened up about the challenges of traveling without Halo, sharing on Snapchat, “Flying tonight to be somewhere for one day but having crippling anxiety without my son. Any advice for moms who still can’t handle when they have to leave for work?”

Her vulnerability has been both refreshing and inspiring, especially as she balances the demands of her career with the joys of motherhood.

Halle’s journey highlights the strength of Black women who often feel the pressure to do it all. She’s proving that it’s possible to shine on the big screen (and stage) while cherishing the small, tender moments of raising a child.

As Halo celebrates his first trip around the sun, it’s clear that he’s surrounded by love. From his mom, Halle, and dad, DDG, to his auntie Chloe and all of us social media aunties and uncles, he is beyond blessed.
