Men have many different thoughts when they are in relationships. Men want companionship, friendship, a lover and someone who can keep up with them intellectually. A relationship will go through many stages, and friendship, warmth, attraction and honesty are must-haves at every stage.
1) Communicate openly and honestly. No buildup, no drama and no excuses. If you want something, ask for it directly. If something is bothering you, say so without a lot of hemming and hawing. Don’t overthink situations in your mind and let them build up for weeks and weeks when two or three sentences could have addressed this problem on Day One.
2) Show an open and adventurous attitude towards sex. This does not mean that your man wants to set records and see his name in the Guiness Book of World Records, but that you enjoy making love and you are giving and very natural with your body. You are not trying to make any statements but you want to share each other. Most men crave the feelings that go with sex and that includes warmth and security. Many women think men want to validate their masculinity through sex but that is just a small part of it. They can do that with someone who is not relationship-worthy. Think of sexual compatibility as a private journey that the two of you will take for the duration of your relationship.
3) Demonstrate your independence. Men like to be in a relationship with someone who has the strength to be on her own financially, emotionally and intellectually. When both partners in a relationship can function as individuals, that’s when the relationship has a chance to flower. Neither one is dependent on each other and therefore neither person owes the other. They are both choosing to be there and there are no hidden agendas.
4) Allow your man to get close and stay close. Many women fear that their relationships will end or get sabotaged at one point or another. So instead of letting the relationship run its course, they sabotage it themselves by not letting the man in at crucial moments. Courage is needed to trust someone. Both parties in the relationship must have it. One partner may very well make mistakes that hurt the other partner, but don’t think you can protect yourself and still have a relationship by not letting your partner “in.”

I think everything in life happends the way its supposed to regardless of what you do in the middle..the end result is going to be the same..for the most part anyway. People can’t keep it real these days so we need pointers and tips from stupid cosmo…being upfront and honest, takes a lot of balls…so if wanna be “like a man” just keep it real, esp those people that claim they dnt like drama…

If black women would look up statistics on the black community and study black men instead of what their mothers told them when they were young they’d stop spitting out recycled comments about black men being in jail or gay and have better perspective, if you just wanna insult black men let it be known cuz i do check statistics and study black women and our community so i got alot to say, aside from that alot the problem truly lyes with the women and their choices (of course some men are just a*****es tho) coming into high school alot of us were virgins and tryna have a girlfriend but 90% of the girls in highschool liked 10% of the guys, the guys that were popular and playing all the girl, just tryna get in yur pants when the rest of the guys see this alot of them imitate. this is y u see so many “idiots” Bcuz this is the mentality of most women (not saying you in particular)when women r tired of being dogged out they expect to find a good guy to treat them with respect and take some guys left overs (not gonna happen ).

I agree with #1. Being open and honest develop great respect 4 each other. Part of a fail relationship is the lack of communication. That’s why couples cheat b/c they r afraid to tell their partner that they r incomplete. (But the truth will hurt sometimes) “The earlier the better”.Oh! This no different to me being polymorous because I read a book on how to have open relationships with multi people.Even tho polygamy is stereotype in a monogamous society such as this this the same advice I read about having more then one person in group relationships.Because I’m considering being polymorous instead of monogamous because society makes it the norm but a relationship defined by the people in it not society.

Real men don’t give a damn about all this acting, we want you to be yourselves, not a copy of us! You’re supposed to bring balance, how can balance occur if you’re thinking like me? You should fit together with me, to compliment me, as I do you, but thinking like me does not equate to you understanding me. If you try to think like me, you’re most likely to do this to try to develop skills to shut me up, when issues occur. However, if you’re trying to understand me, you try to come up with a solution to the problems, or just hear me out (which is all it takes most times, just like with you women!), so we can move past them. Thinking like me? Sounds to me like you’re over-thinking and plotting how to manipulate situations as they occur with me.
The problem here is many women date idiots, they themselves being idiots if all they do is back to back idiot dating. Then you equate your idiots to the rest of the men out there, in short-sightedness. Your dating history is your experience in dating, which means that’s ALL YOU KNOW ABOUT DATING! So if you only date idiots, you can’t recognize a good man, don’t feel like you can hang with one, and therefore pick idiots because you know your real position! The best thing a woman, or a man, can do to make a relationship last is to NOT BE CLINGY. And don’t act like that person is your everything. Don’t call constantly until they answer, and when they do answer, don’t have a million questions. Don’t require constant confirmation that they want you and only you. And when they say they were doing something, just leave it at that because if a person wants you, they want you. If they don’t, it will come out later and you know to just move on.
