I dont see the problem with breastfeeding in public. Most women dont have their breast hanging out while they feed their babies. They conceal it pretty well under their shirts or with a blanket. And babies will scream and cry in public if they hungry. What are mothers supposed to do in that situation? Just let their baby cry?

I believe it should be ok to breast feed in public as long your breast is coverd with a blanket or something. Its so funny they worry about this sh*t when they to go bother the real criminals. Its so sad

I believe it should be legal to an extent….I sure as heck don’t want to see women just whipping out their breast all willy-nilly as I’m in target with my family shopping. It should be done very discreetly if necessary….Like someone noted with a blanket or any of the modern doo-hickeys we have specifically for this reason. Plus why not just pump into a bottle and bring the bottles when your out?

I live in MI (where this happened). It is not illegal to breast feed in public in this state. This woman was misinformed.

(2) As used in this section, “public nudity” means knowingly or intentionally displaying in a public place, or for payment or promise of payment by any person including, but not limited to, payment or promise of payment of an admission fee, any individual’s genitals or anus with less than a fully opaque covering, or a female individual’s breast with less than a fully opaque covering of the nipple and areola. A mother’s breastfeeding of her baby does not under any circ**stances constitute nudity irrespective of whether or not the nipple is covered during or incidental to the feeding.

But there’s a catch, if you nipple tease your baby or toy it with the kid..BAM!!! there’s a cuff ‘n!!! All City and Townships and Charter villages are granted HOME RULE, they set the standards, not the State!

It’s a beautiful thing a woman breast feeding her baby.We all know that’s how God originally intended for it to be.But in today’s overly sensative society,she should’ve known better than to do something like that.Their’s a time and place for everything.Sadly enough this lady might be one of those attention w***es!

I just had a baby and i wouldnt even want to breastfeed him in public…i dont want strangers looking at my breasts and i dont wanna see no other womens breasts….thats nasty…sure it was natural in caveman days but now we have all kinda silly laws and guidelines that we have to abide by and i wouldnt want my 12yr old son walking thru target with me staring pointing and laughing at some random lady with a baby sucking on her breasts…sure he knows why but kids will be kids. It may seem natural to that woman but it may not be natural for others. Breastfeeding is suppose to be therapeutic bonding time for the baby and the mother. How are they bonding in a loud store with bright lights and strangers all around?! I didnt even take my baby out in public places until he was 6 months anyway…guess im just overprotective!

I’m appalled actually that someone could even think to tell me not to feed my crying, hungry baby. Even if it is in public. Most respectable women will automatically cover themselves and their baby out of pure respect, and privacy. The question is do female animal species, comtemplate, or hide to feed their young. No, because it is doing what is intended and natural. If God intended for a mother not to feed her baby by her breast, then a bottle would’ve been delivered right along with the child….Dont even get me started.
