these women are simply a lil thick…and that’s what qualifies as “plus size” these days. the first pic is gorgeous, but some of these aren’t that flattering, esp the last pic. i applaud what the magazine is trying to do, but not every type of outfit is flattering on every body type. stylists for a fashion mag should def know what looks good on different body types and this mag should’ve styled these women in a more appealing manner instead of trying to put them in the same shyt they put on size 0 models.

I love the first pic but pic number two makes me wanna vomit. Maybe its because Im not attracted to women. She just looks nasty to me. Maybe its because shes all pale and just looks like a blob of fat. I dont know I should just keep my comments to myself. Afrikasun is right there is a fine line between being thick and fat. lol I think its sad that most of our health conditions stem from the way we eat and could be corrected but we have gotten to the point where we are excusing being overweight and out of shape.

there is a difference between thick and plus sized. i’m a full-figured female who would not be considered thick. some men (esp. my fellow southerners) consider me to be thick. it’s all a matter of preference and attitude. this models are like a breath of fresh air, and i hope that more mags will get on the band wagon. we are here, and more people need to accept the fact.

I personally like what I’m seeing…a change. Letting everyone out there know that being big or thick can be tasteful and tactful just like the anorexic broads. Trur beauty comes in ALL shapes, sizes and colors. Matter-of-fact, I’m an aspiring model myself. So go thick girls (BBWs)!

i think what needs to be remembered here is that, in the modeling world, plus size is different than in the real world. plus size in the fashion industry is average sizes in American culture. plus size in American culture is far larger than the models they have spreads of. so for this, i feel like its all a crock of s**t, get some fat b***hes on there, like myself and call it plus size. those women are NOT plus size!

As a plus sized woman myself, I find it to be quite liberating…ithe pictures are beautiful, and it saddens me that the modeling world has never embraced the fuller figured woman…has anyone noticed that the models of iur generation wasting away as the days pass?…its about damn time they show the big guhls some love!…I feel sexier already…growing up, I had a low self esteem because all of my friends were a lot smaller than me, and I couldnt turn thru the pages of a magazine and relate to what I seen ever!…I cant hit the store and find all the cute stuff you see on tv or on the net…it gets to be discouraging at times…so knowing that V mag has embraced and shown off the squishier, softer women, I applaud them…now I need me a copy!

I think its wonderful absolutely wonderful that they are featuring plus size women in their adds…too often and for too long, the fashion industry has belittled the woman’s physique of the common acquired hips, thighs and breast which signified and enduring strength and feminity…I greatly appauled V magazine and I hope many more fashion magazines will follow the same protocol and see that skinny is not the only “beauty” out there…. THUMBS UP!!!

I had to come back…these women are just so impressive…and its a shame they shouldnt be impressive…THIS should be what society sees as the norm…nothing wrong with these women…They are just so very eye catching and i wouldnt mind a pair or two of those shoes they rockin!

I see the pictures as sexy, liberating, and flattering. But then, I was born in North Carolina, am a big fella (6′ 3″ and 235) and like a woman who’s got some hips “and stuff”. So yea, it works for me.
