I liked Shakira the way she was, weird and foreign…now she is “Americanized” or more to the fact “J-Loized”. Okayyyy…Shakira. I love her. Have been following her since I was very young. For the record the woman is half Colombian (mom) and half Lebanese (dad). Which is why she is so…what’s the word…intoxicatingly different and organic? This video is definitely very Americanized, yes, but if you guys youtube her spanish songs I.E. “Donde Estas Corazon”, “Ojos Asi”, “Hay Amores” you see that her looks are constantly changing. This is probably the most different that I’ve seen her. She’s losing her Lebanese side to become more americanized–more hip-hop. She’s modeling Beyonce because Beyonce is the baddest American female icon. Therefore, mock my words, Shakira will mimmick at first and bring her culture when she gets the fans. It Latin America spanish rock is very big. And you see that in her looks 10-5 years ago. But she is an evolving icon in her own right…she’s come to America and lil mama is gonna use her Lebanese hip shaking and Colombian warmth to get ya’ll to pay attention and keep it there if it meens giving a lil to take a whole lot….
