It is just time for REAL conversations and action about Domestic Violence. This is not a “race” issue unless it is “Human race.” I will pray for Maureen’s family and even her husband. We have lost some many people to domestic violence, my family was affected back in 2007. I still miss my sister. Her ex is in custody but the DOUBLE Homicide investigation is still open.

This is a social ill that our society has decided to ignore. People we are have to get involved and TALK about this. There are so many men, women, children and family impacted and destroyed by domestic violence. NOT ENOUGH is being done and it must start with serious honest conversations.

The craziest thing is not even the murder, but how the hell do you drive around with the body for 2 days? The rate of domestic abuse particularly those that result in femicide is growing out of control. Any such case should be reported in the media but more importantly proactive steps need to be taken to eliminate the problem and one of the first steps must be to remind men that they need to respect women and if they can’t they shouldn’t be with any woman. Another step is that women need to remember that they are not the property of men and do not need a man to define them nor validate them.
