it really amuses me, not that i’m surprised that all of these “so-called” black christians are having flings, divorcing, & acting like the fools white ppl have made us out to be and of course-there’s a plethora  of dumb azz black ppl urging them on as evidenced on this page….i’ll never forget when i was in deion’s one horse home town of fort myers, fl and seeing hundreds of blk ppl drinking & partying in a club that had no roof w/white police officers parked 20-30 ft away watching-saying uto myself, “this is where he’s from, no wonder he hasn’t given back or returned.”

He is divorcing her for a reason she was doing thing that was not proper for a wife to do so he is cutting her loose.Maybe he should have done this years ago but was trying to wait it out i guess those women on football wives have something to smile about lol.

 Man, I’m so disappointed with the state of black america right now. As much greatness that we could have, we instead, are proud to push the envelope of ignorance. Look at the shows. The attitudes we promote. Its all bulls**t and definitely NOT part of The Dream that King had.

Why the “attack” on those that declare themselves to be Christians? Is there something written that says Christians (or anyone that may be believe in Christ or God) are perfect? As far as behavior (bad or otherwise) it is not limited to any one race, economic class, age or culture. Just because Deion happens to be an athlete that got paid for his work does not excuse the sad fact that he and his wife was unable to work out their differences. The destruction of another marraige (especially a black one) is not to be celebrated but we all should be sadden.

Well this article says nothing about anyone cheating or any other details about why Deion filed for divorce, so at this point this should be looked at a marriage that didn’t work out..period…there is no need for people to speculate or try to blame Deion or Pilar, even though I know some people on here think its their right to speculate and judge.

This upsets me to hear that he is divorcing her! I think she is a good woman! What really gets me about this whole situation is that, Deion Sanders has a beautiful wife, who is talented, intelligent and far from ignorant and enjoys being a wife, mother and having her own career. She has no problem putting her husband and family first either. Im still trying to figure out when she has time to work out, cause her body is dumb ridiculous for a woman that’s had 3 kids! Gotta give credit where its due! Something that was shown on both ”Deion and Pilar” and ”Football wives”. A women that professed often that only God, her husband, her family and career matter to her! That’s the type of woman that not only is postive for other young black females to see but also a woman that many men would kill to have in their corner! This is a woman that will help to further grow the wealth of the family that the two of you are continually building everyday! Atleast when a woman like that is spending, you don’t have to worry, because she can more than likely put back double what she spent!

He said ”I didn’t want a model or a actress, if I did I would have married one a long time ago!”. However,  that is who he married, thats who he chased after…a model and an actress, the very career she had before she met him! Did he ever sit her down before they got married and say, “I don’t want you to work anymore, you don’t need to! I want you in the house cooking and cleaning and taking care of me, the kids and the house!” That would have allowed her to make a choice…Give up her career and be a housewife, or not marry him and wait for a man that also kept her best interest at heart as she does his! I feel like in a way he did try to beat her to the courthouse, after the rumors of him cheating hit the net. Guess what boo boo, a 19 yr old girl don’t want to be a housewife, she wants you for your money and what you can do for her! Talk about some Dumb, dee Dumb Dumb Duuuuummmmbbbbb lol!

Honestly, I think it’s sad that Deion is divorcing her for such superficial reasons.  Pillar appears to be a beautiful and incredibly intelligent woman who is relying on her own abilities to provide a future for herself and her children. It seems Deion is attempting to humiliate her by filing for divorce and making it public but it shows his character.  She could have filed divorce from him long ago for his philandering and cheating ways, but she didn’t in order to keep their family together, regardless of how hurt she may have felt at his indiscretions.  Deion should be ashamed….but nevertheless, Pilar will come out on top and still paid.  How you doin?

 What exactly was King’s dream? Sleep with as many hoes as you could while spouting truth and justice.   I admire any person who sacrifices his/her all for what they believe in, unfortunately, God  prefers obedience rather than sacrifice.  Some of the most successful shows on television have been about greed, lust,  adultery, fornication, murder, rape, ignorance, to mention a few, because they are ratings gold. Black Americans will never come together because of a disconnect from tribal ancesters long ago.  Why won’t Blacks take advantage of the many opportunities to advance in this country is a question that God only knows.  They certainly have heard of Dr. King’s Dream, but perhaps many give in to the sinful, less demanding , immediate reward style of life rather than hard work, study, patience, dull and less exciting, future rewardstyle of life.  Ignorance breeds poverty, Poverty breeds ingorance.  Maybe there were two parts to Dr. King’s Dream and many Blacks choose the reality of his life rather than the “Dream”.

Sad, but what would you expect from people who are more focused on money, fortune and fame, status, credits.  There is nothing wrong with making money but the bible does say, what is a man who gains the world to loose his soul. Or her soul (emphasis added) When you marry, its no long I, it is we.  Sad. And the ones who will really suffer emotionally is the children.  Wonder if they want to be like mommy and daddy.  All for what, fame and recognition?  Status.  At what cost?  Integrity and power.  Umm Sad.

Seemed like something was wrong when they showed her during his Hall of Fame induction. She was sitting there with shades on looking blank. I thought that was odd especially since his speech was so good. I almost got emotional :)

michael ur off the mark, gumbomixx u hit the nail on the head. deion is from ft. myers, fl-a small farming labor town where poverty, alcoholism, crime, woman abuse is reknown. despite all of his business failings and a 2 million dollars dallas condo of which they cant give away-not to mention his 6 price lowering of their present mansion of which thay can’t give away. if it were not for her and the reality shgows and now her other opportunities-they’d be broke and in bankruptcy.

He is probably having a mid life crisis…he is around 44, 45 and is not in the spot light as much…

She knows what she married.  They know who they are behind closed doors and we can only speculate.  Maybe for  the cameras she puts her husband first……but just realistically speaking, having kids, and all those ventures…something is bound to fall by the wayside…..and it does take time to stay looking like she does too…..she is not what I would call low maintenance…just simple logic…there is only 24hrs in a day and her attention is divided among many things.  To give something lip service and then to actually do it are two different things.  I believe that like everyone, they were having problems with their marriage…..if it was strong, nobody would be getting a divorce and everyone would keep their respective body parts in their marital bed.  The foundation must be strong or the house will not stand.  They had some cracks in the foundation and instead of repairing them, they just kept building hoping the problems would somehow resolve themselves.  I bet you 9/10 Pilar is saddened but deep inside is happy to start over.  

He actually did tell her that. He repeatedly made that clear on the reality show that they did together. He expected to her to be a wife and mother, nothing else.  That was very clear to me just from watching the few episodes that I did watch. Deion wanted a trophy wife to be at his beck and call. If it was that clear to me, it should have been crystal clear to her. It seems that for years in their marriage she was okay with being just that and was willing to not pursue the actress/model thing anymore. As of recent years, it seems Pilar has been trying to branch out and be more than just his beck and call girl. I’m sure it caused strain.  Many athletes, entertainers do this all the time; they will marry a woman who is a beautiful model/actress, has a little shine, and tries to dull her shine down. Turn her into a wife and mother and nothing else. But eventually, they will all want that shine again after having had to be dim for so many years. C’est la vie.

Really? I hate to see this especially with people who have been married a while and have children. Celebrities or not, it is always disappointing to see families separate. It’s also sad that this seems to be the norm these days. —sigh—
