Gabrielle Union is the November cover model for Essence Magazine. The Birth Of A Nation actress looks like a pillar of fortitude, giving us a strong pose for the cover. The smokey eye and natural makeup, play on her naturally beautiful features. We love how her makeup is giving her a glow!

The beauty gets real in her interview about many things, including being a rape survivor. Given all the drama surrounding Nate Parker and The Birth Of A Nation, it’s great to see her speaking so publicly about something women often suffer in silence. There is power in the story and power in uplifting other women, Gabrielle shares with Essence Magazine,

“As a rape survivor and as an advocate, I cannot shy away from this responsibility because the conversation got difficult. I don’t want to put myself above anyone’s pain or triggers. Every victim or survivor, I believe you. I support you. I support you if you don’t want to see the film. I absolutely understand and respect that.”

While she shines in gold wrap dress with a gold plated choker, the star doesn’t shy away from the conversation of police brutality and is candid on raising Black boys in America. “Until they walk through the door, I’m terrified,” she says. “Sometimes I just want to stay off my timeline, because it makes those waits until they walk through the door a thousand times worse. One of my biggest fears is them being a hashtag on some bulls—t.”

Beauties, check out the entire interview, here.
