A churchgoer is dead after violence broke out over a church seat at Keystone Fellowship Church in Pennsylvania, NY Daily News reports.

It’s scary that places of worship have recently become epicenters for violence.

The argument started when a churchgoer told Robert Braxton III, 27 he was sitting in reserved seats, according to the DA.

He yelled “don’t [expletive] touch me” after he was told he was in someone else’s seat, according to an affidavit obtained by NBC Philadelphia.

The situation calmed down after Braxton spoke to the church usher and a pastor—but not for long.

Mark Storms approached Braxton, carrying a gun and telling the 27-year-old to leave the church while flashing a Concealed Weapons Permit badge that was most likely purchased online, says the district attorney.

“When he came over, he had a gun out, escalating the situation,” the DA explained at a press conference. “Braxton then took a swing at the defendant, punching him in the jaw.”

Just before punching Storms, Braxton asked, “What are you going to do, shoot me?” according to the court records. Storm proceeded to open fire, hitting Braxton in the chest and right arm.

Braxton was rushed to the hospital where he died from his wounds.

Storms has been arrested and charged with voluntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment. He is being held on a $250,000 bail.

The DA asserts that the shooting was not a “reasonable self-defense situation,” according to NY Daily.

The family is reasonably outraged that Braxton lost his life in a place of worship.

“You don’t go to church to be killed, you just don’t do that,” Diana Walters,Braxton’s aunt, told WPVI. “He’s a young man. He had his whole life ahead of him.”

Our hearts go out to his friends and family and anyone affected by the tragedy.
