Principal Reportedly Traded Sex With Student For Protection Against Bullies

A 16-year-old student at Northwest High School in Rock Hill, North Carolina was allegedly taken advantage of by former assistant principal Kenneth Andrew Williams. The student claims to have told Williams that bullies were going to beat her up the next day at noon and he did nothing to prevent the altercation. After it happened, the student is said to have told her peers as well as teachers that she didn’t want to be alone with Williams. A subsequent police investigation revealed that the 30-year-old administrator was allegedly threatening to alter the students grades and even kidnap her if she didn’t adhere to his sexual requests. Williams has since been charged with four counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor and unlawful conduct toward a child. The 16-year-old victim may have helped police to uncover other students that had a similar relationship with Williams based on intimidation and an abuse of power. Williams’ bond was set at $100,000, he’s been placed on administrative leave from work and ordered not to have any contact with the victim or her family. WBTV

Pilot Blames Chewing Gum For His Failed Breathalyzer

On April 21, 2015 a JetBlue co-pilot noticed that pilot Dennis Murphy Jr. had been “drinking an unknown beverage from a cup” during a roundtrip flight from Orlando to New York. Following the second flight, Murphy was pulled aside and asked to blow in a Breathalyzer which registered .111, over three times the FAA’s limit for pilots. Murphy blamed his elevated intoxicated levels on the gum he was chewing. Fifteen minutes later he still blew a .091; pilots that register over .04 are subject to federal charges. Since being dismissed from JetBlue, Murphy claims to have checked himself into rehab and he’s been working as a substitute teacher. If convicted, the former pilot faces 15 years in prison. New York Post

Uber Changes Cancellation Policy

If you’ve ever heard the phrase, “time is money”, the ride sharing app Uber is cracking down on passengers that call for a ride and aren’t ready when their driver arrives. Customers in several of the most busiest cities including: New York City, New Jersey, Phoenix and Dallas will now be given two minutes instead of five to get to their car or else they will incur fees. Riders will also have two minutes to cancel their ride or they’ll be hit with a $5 to $10 charge. In a statement, a representative of Uber commented on the change in saying: “In select cities we are running a small pilot so that drivers are compensated for their time even when riders are running a bit late or have a change of plans. When riders and drivers are respectful of each other’s time, the whole system runs more smoothly and the Uber experience improves for everyone.” Mashable

Sanchez, who has a valid license in New York has a suspended license in New Jersey.
