There’s something so incredible about Ne-Yo‘s ability to capture our raw emotions with his pen, that solidifies him as the voice of a generation. His song “So Sick” remains the go-to breakup anthem for both sexes and his latest disc, “Non-Fiction” is filled with gems like “Religious” and “One More” that are filled with profound love lessons.

“I think fellas understand when you bring your lady to the Ne-Yo Show, it’s one thing to bring your lady and it’s another thing for the guys to come and basically just take notes. I’m going to drop a little knowledge on you,” he revealed in a candid session with InterludesLIVE host Smokey Fontaine. “If you don’t know how to say it, or you just don’t want to say it, put on a Ne-Yo CD and I’ll say it.”

That could be because Ne-Yo knew at an early age that he would become one of the most accomplished songwriters and creators of our time.

“I knew at 9, I knew I didn’t want to be a fireman,” he said. “Music was it for me. I didn’t know if I was going to be a singer or writing songs or producing. I didn’t know. I just knew it was going to be music.”

Tune in to the full InterludesLIVE show on Saturday, March 28 at 10pm/9c on TV One!
