Less than a day after he got away with killing an unarmed teen, Darren Wilson his given his first public remarks.

The disgraced Ferguson police officer sat down with ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos for an interview earlier today on ABC’s “World New Tonight,” where he stated that doesn’t regret his actions. As a refresher, the actions he’s talking about are what happened when he had a run-in with Michael Brown back in early August and killed the teen by shooting him in the street.

While he does feel bad that Michael is now dead, Darren was so sure of his own execution of Ferguson PD protocol that he told George that he would not have done anything differently in this situation. George recalled Darren telling him that “He did what he was trained to do. He was simply doing his job.”

Insisting that things would not have played out any differently if Michael were White, Darren reiterated his claims that he was in real fear for his life as he struggled with the teen. “All I wanted to do was live,” Darren explained to George.

The cop said he became seriously concerned after Michael allegedly punched him in the face with such force that Darren “didn’t know if I’d be able to withstand another hit like that.”

It was at that point, Darren said, “I had reached out my window with my right hand to grab onto his forearm ’cause I was gonna try and move him back and get out of the car to where I’m no longer trapped.”

He claimed that it wasn’t just getting hit that made him worry, it was the strength behind it. Darren recalled that he basically felt like he was no match for Michael. “I just felt the immense power that he had. And then the way I’ve described it is it was like a 5-year-old holding onto Hulk Hogan,” Darren said. “That’s just how big this man was.”

In case you missed it on “World News Tonight,” ABC will be re-airing the interview on “Nightline” just after 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
