Tyler Perry briefly (and we mean very briefly) spoke on reports that he and his girlfriend will be expecting their first child soon.
The self-made media mogul announced that he’s going to be a dad during his 45th birthday party earlier this month. He didn’t reveal the mother’s name, but it’s assumed that his girlfriend, Gelila Bekele, is the one having his baby.
When the Associated Press caught up with him at the New York Film Festival, they asked him how he’s doing as he prepares to have his first child. “Good, good. We’re good. Very happy,” Tyler quickly told the Associated Press at a screening for “Gone Girl” on Friday night, “She’s excited, I’m excited so we’re very happy.”
But, Tyler isn’t so sure about marriage. “I don’t know so much about marriage as much as I do know that I’d be a great father,” he said in Sister2Sister Magazine. “I’m working really, really hard right now. I don’t want to do it wrong… I want to focus.”
According to E! the baby will be arriving sooner than many are aware because a guest at the party told them that Gelila is “seven or eight months pregnant.”
