Aaliyah+Rock+The+Boat

Before her untimely and tragic death in 2001, Aaliyah was a fast-rising music superstar. Though she only released three albums, she recorded many more songs and demos. Some of these are now being leaked online and her former producer, Jeffrey Walker, says he’s working on an album of her unreleased tracks.

Here are 10 unreleased Aaliyah songs:

1. “Enough Said”

Drake and producer Noah” 40” Shebib uncovered this unreleased song, added a rap verse to it, and released it last year.

2. “Don’t Think They Know”

Aaliyah teamed up with Digital Black for this Eastern-inflected track for his never-released solo album.

3. “Don’t Worry”

This was one of six unreleased singles featured on “I Care 4 U,” a posthumous collection released by Blackground Records.

4. “Erica Kane”

The title of this slow, sexy ballad refers to Susan Lucci’s iconic soap opera character on “All My Children.”

5. “All I Need”

On this unreleased track that was featured on “I Care 4 U,” Aaliyah’s honey-smooth voice is backed with heavy beats.

6. “Giving Up”

When Aaliyah recorded this sweeping song, she was set to star in a remake of “Sparkle.” Unfortunately, she died in a plane crash before the movie could be filmed. The remake eventually did happen, a dozen years later, with Jordin Sparks.

7. “Miss You”

A poignant ballad featuring DMX and Timbaland, “Miss You” was the first single from “I Care 4 U.” It was recorded in 2000 and meant for Aaliyah’s never-completed third studio album.

8. “Where Could He Be”

Aaliyah collaborated with Missy Elliot and Tweet for this 2001 track intended for her final studio album. It samples Lisa Stanfield’s “All Around the World.”

9. “Death of a Playa”

All in the family! Aaliyah wrote and recorded this soulful ballad with brother Rashad Haughton (who contributes the rap). It was a B-side to 1997’s “The One I Gave My Heart To.”

10. “Don’t Know What to Tell Ya”

Aaliyah sings about a broken relationship in this track from producers Static Major and Timbaland. It was meant for her 2001 album “Aaliyah,” but didn’t make the cut.
