As previously reported, the rapper’s daughter, Davieanna Marlena Blake, was arrested and booked in jail on suspicion of child abuse for her involvement in the beating death of her son. According to reports, the 21-year-old mother told police that her boyfriend, 24-year-old Darnell Moses Alvarez, had disciplined their child with a leather belt for wetting the bed. Sadly the young boy never woke up, and the autopsy reports showed that he suffered from “a lacerated liver, severe internal bleeding and multiple bruising throughout his body, inconsistent with being struck with a belt only.”

Hello Beautiful caught up with Quik at the Los Angeles premiere of Kevin Hart’s Let Me Explain, and although the hip-hop MC said he couldn’t go into detail about the on-going case, he revealed that he will stand by his daughter’s side through this difficult time.

“I don’t like to talk about it,” he said, “But I’m supporting her. It wasn’t her fault.”

He added, “She didn’t do it and that’s all I’m going to say.”

Blake told police she and Alvarez argued earlier in the day and after the child woke they saw he had wet the bed overnight, according to the document. Alvarez allegedly struck the child with a leather belt, and Blake didn’t intervene for fear of upsetting Alvarez more, according to the documents.

She said she went to work and when she returned, her son was lethargic and had multiple bruises and stopped breathing while she and Alvarez argued over taking their son to the hospital, according to the documents.

Alvarez later told police he disciplined the child with a woven belt during the day after he soiled himself and the bathroom.

A judge has yet to rule on the case.

The Compton-born rapper is best known for his affiliation with Snoop Dogg and Tupac Shukar at Death Row Records and songs like “Tonite,” “Down, Down, Down” and “Pitch In On A Party.”
