Keri Hilson Reveals Why She Replaced Lil’ Kim On Album
Keri Hilson recently revealed why she cut Lil’ Kim from a collaboration featured on her sophomore album, No Boys Allowed. An earlier leaked version of Keri’s song “Buyou” featured Lil’ Kim, but the female rapper was replaced by male rapper J. Cole on the final cut that made the album.
Of the Polow Da Don-produced track, Keri said,
“[Kim] was basically just trying out a verse for Polow Da Don. I happened to love it, [but] having all boy features kinda took precedent over that happening. What I hear is a very smart person when I listen to J. Cole,” said Keri. “He’s very intellectual and I knew that he would bring that side out of the record.”
