Most people would think that with age comes a reasonable level of maturity. In some cases, most people would be wrong. Why is it that some (supposedly) grown women are still ready to start swinging at other women like they’re in a boxing ring? Here are some commonly accepted “reasons” behind the fighting:

The men reason: I personally believe that 95% of these altercations have something to do with men. Some woman threatened to slap a friend of mine because she’d asked the woman’s boyfriend what time it was. What the hell?? If you’re so insecure about your man that you’re ready to fight over him, maybe its time to end the relationship.

Forget about fighting-read about Nas & Kelis instead!!

The family/friends reason: I once saw a girl tear a chunk of another girl’s hair out for talking about her sister. This went down in high school, but still-don’t tell me that defending the family smackdowns never happen with “adults.” Unless someones safety is being directly threatened, what’s the point of jumping in and defending your family member/friend with force??

Don’t let haters see you sweat-Beyonce doesn’t!

The “I just don’t like her” reason: Hopefully, this reason is largely confined to the youngest among us. Since when does “she looked at me wrong” been reason enough to cause bodily harm? Someone directed that comment towards me a couple of years ago and I considered going Stevie Wonder for a minute-you know, never taking my glasses off again!

What do you think, Hello Beautiful?? Is there ever a time for violence between women??

And, remember this?? Here’s the infamous Oakland salon beating:
