Prince’s untimely death rocked the world, and now fans and family have insight into what caused his demise.
Before his cause of death was revealed, investigators questioned if Prince died of an overdose or whether physician negligence was to blame.
Rumors have been lingering over the tragedy since the 57-year-old was found dead in his Paisley Park Estate in Minnesota.
According to the AP, Prince died of an opioid overdose.
The official close to the investigation asked to be anonymous because he was not authorized to speak to the media.
