Protestors Interrupt The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

A group of protestors, who organized their rally on social media using the hashtag #stoptheparade, interrupted Macy’s annual Thanksgiving Day Parade in an attempt to raise awareness around the non-indictment of Darren Wilson.

A few protestors were arrested, but that didn’t discourage others from marching through the NYC streets waving signs and chanting, “Justice for Mike Brown and we don’t have to shut down.”

Ferguson Protestors Target Black Friday Sales

Ferguson protestors have decided to “hit em’ where it hurts.” Dozens of determined demonstrators rallied in front of major retail giants like Walmart and Target, to show their support for #MikeBrown on the biggest shopping day of the year. “Hands up, don’t shoot!” they repeated as shoppers passed by. According to HuffingtonPost, police ordered some of the groups to disburse and they did so peacefully.

Earlier this week, Activist group Blackout For Human Rights launched a social media movement that called for #MikeBrown supporters to avoid shopping on Black Friday.

We have witnessed enough. We mourn the loss of men like Oscar Grant, Eric Garner, Ezell Ford, John Crawford and Michael Brown, who met their deaths at the hands of police officers,” reads the mission statement on their website. We mourn the loss of life and the absence of justice for Trayvon Martin, Renisha McBride and Jordan Davis, killed by private citizens, in a climate where police action demonstrates this as acceptable. An affront to any citizen’s human rights threatens the liberty of all. So, we participate in one of the most time honored American traditions: dissent.

Will Law Enforcement Ever Have To Pay For Their Crimes Against Us?

Young Black men are 21 times more likely than their White peers to be killed by police. And the officers who kill them–we all know this story–rarely face indictments or any major consequences. So we beg the question: Can law enforcement be held accountable in a justice system that’s set up to support their actions? Check out this amazing infographic put together by Color Lines that gives us a visual to a sickening racial truth.

SMH: Darren Wilson Wants To Teach ‘Use Of Force’

In a recent interview with ABC, Darren Wilson decided he would open up about his future plans that include him teaching the use of force. Wilson says that his life has forever changed after he slayed unarmed teen Michael Brown on the streets of Ferguson. And because his life is now lived in fear and uncertainty about his law enforcement future, he’s decided to teach people. “I would love to give more insight on … into the use of force and anything I can,” he said. “Anything that I can get out of this career I’ve had so far and of the incident, I would love to give to someone else.” Check out the full rolling-your-eyes story here.

MSNBC Host Lawrence O’Donnell Slams Assistant District Attorney

MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell slammed St. Louis County assistant district attorney Kathy Alizadeh after learning Alizadeh handed the grand jury, who was handling Darren Wilson’s case, a letter that implied Darren Wilson was justified in using deadly force against #MikeBrown because he was fleeing.

The letter included a copy of a 1979 Missouri statute saying police were “justified in the use of such physical force as he or she reasonably believes is immediately necessary to effect the arrest or prevent the escape from custody,” reports RawStory. What Alizadeh failed to mention is that, the Supreme Court ruled the statute to be unconstitutional years later.

“With prosecutors like this, Darren Wilson never really needed a defense lawyer,” O’ Donnell said. Watch it, here.
