Stacey Dash is really taking her new role as Fox News contributor very seriously. The beautiful “Clueless ” star (who for the most part, always feels clueless) is standing for Republicans and claiming that her preferred political party is in favor of gay marriage, when we know they’re not.
TMZ caught up with the 47-year-old actress and when asked if Republicans would get more of a younger following if it changed its views on same-sex marriage, she said, “We’re not against that. We’re not against that at all. We believe everyone should have the same rights.”

The TMZ cameraman wasn’t buying it and challenged Dash, by asking her about the mixed messages from the Tea Party, she said, “That’s just propaganda, it’s not true. You know? That’s just a certain amount of people. You can’t just throw a blanket over everyone because certain people have one opinion.”
Tea Partiers are highly likely to oppose legal recognition of gay marriage or civil unions. 40 percent of them advocate “no legal recognition” of any kind. If you ask me, that’s not necessarily throwing a blanket over everyone, because the Republicans oppose legal gay marriage by 54-40. Sure, it’s a bit of a generalization to assume that all GOP members oppose gay marriage, but it’s based on concrete evidence. The official stance of the GOP is against LGBT equality. We all know that. Their national platform calls for a ban on same-sex marriage! Did Dash forget this?
It seems there’s a new breath of air that the Republican party is trying to grab hold to. With Dash as one of their biggest, youngest and brownest mouthpieces, they’re starting to appear as a more diverse party, but I’m not buying it. Maybe she’s leading the charge on the younger generation of the GOP who are breaking the typical conservative stance of social issues.
