Lupita Blasted By Whitenicious Pop Star

While we were celebrating Lupita Nyongo’s’ win at the 2014 Academy Awards, one African pop star was less than impressed and blasted the “Best Supporting Actress” winner on Twitter.

Dencia markets a bleaching cream called “Whitenicious” that (believe it or not) is flying off the shelves. Dencia was upset with Lupita after the dark-skinned thespian encouraged women to take pride in their skin color. Lupita gave an inspiring speech at the 2014 Essence Black Women In Hollywood event where she read a letter from a fan who planned on using Dencia’s skin bleaching cream.

Lupita encouraged the young woman to be comfortable in her skin and Dencia, who used the product to lighten her own brown skin, reacted on Twitter.

Of course Lupita did not respond and we would never ever expect her to react to such foolishness. As for Dencia, she is damaged and needs to consult help for her insecurities instead of calling out Lupita.
