Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” star Joseline Hernandez is from Puerto Rico.

“I’m Puerto Rican,” she told Global Grind. “I was born in Puerto Rico, and I left Puerto Rico when I was 10, and I went to Florida.” Joseline grew up in the projects there and her biological father die of a drug overdose, she said.

Joseline, her mother, stepfather, and five siblings were very poor when they moved to Miami. In addition, one of her brothers was autistic. “We really didn’t have any money. I’m talking about one pair of shoes for the whole school year,” she explained. “We were really struggling.”

To make ends meet, Joseline began to work as a stripper. “I knew that I didn’t want to do that,” she said of being an exotic dancer. “I want to be an artist. I want to be a singer. I want to be a rapper. I want to be a model. I want to be on TV, but, at that time, my family was struggling and I had to help.”

Eventually, Joseline was discovered by music producer Stevie J and that led to her joining the cast of “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.”
