It was Kanye West’s recent rants that started this entire conversation in the #Teambeautiful office. We laughed as Kanye tried to steer us away from name brands, including the ones he raps about and wears shamelessly. Then, MTV labeled him the 7th rapper on the list of “Hottest Rappers In The Game.” Why’d they do that?! It sent Kanye on a tirade. Serious concern set it after that and now I’m left wondering…what is happening to Kanye? All humor aside, I think the “Runaway” rapper needs a hug.

Here’s the thing though, Yeezy’s not alone. There’s plenty of other celebrities who are equally as intense and could use a warm embrace. Never underestimate the power of a hug.
Check out the list of other celebrity men who could use a hug:
Cornel West
From naming President Obama a “war criminal” to a “Republican in blackface,” one thing you can say about former Princeton professor Cornel West is that he’s bold. As a self-proclaimed “Revolutionary,” West is admittedly engaging when he speaks. He makes you pay attention, but his biggest criticism is how he’s gone from exceptional philosopher to celebrity revolutionary; often name-dropping and placing value on which A-lister he knows personally. Too bad no one off his star-studded list of friends has given him what he needs–a hug.
Lil’ Wayne
You could have all the “Cash Money” in the world and still had a soul at unrest. This is exactly who Weezy has become. The Nawlins born and bred rapper has recently been making headlines for ranting about sleeping with Chris Bosh’s wife and hating the Miami Heat. While the NBA held Wayne at arm’s length, he released a new tune, “Karate Chop,” where he tastelessly name-dropped Emmett Till. Classy. This is nothing short of acting out. Someone come hug this man.
Kanye West
Ever since Kanye lost the most important woman in this life, his mother, Donda West, he’s been acting out like a teenager in the midst of the most hormonal puberty of all time. The constantly controversial rapper has a kid on the way with Kim Kardashian and it worries me that he’s been kicking and screaming so frequently lately.
Terrence Howard
There’s certain people who are off limits when it comes down to speaking inappropriately. Oprah is CLEARLY on the top of that list. Howard is staring opposite Oprah in “The Butler,” and in the movie, he shares a sex scene with the billion dollar mogul. He claims he enjoyed it because of her “tig ol’ bitties.” *sigh* Be careful with this hug, he may linger around your “bitties.”
Tavis Smiley
This is a case of guilty by association. Tavis Smiley has teamed up with Cornel West to work on several projects together–they have a show, a book and are on tour. All of this to turn people against President Obama. Sit down sir–after your hug.
DMX
Where do you start with DMX? He’s constantly getting in trouble with the law by being a part of several scenarios that sound like they are right out of the script of the next biggest crime drama. From rape, to stabbings to drug possession, it seems DMX has never had his head screwed on right. He opened up about his sordid relationship with his mother on “Couples Therapy” and it all started to make sense. DMX has never felt loved and spends his life acting out of frustration. This hug needs to last a lifetime.
Spike Lee
Spike is one of the biggest little haters out there. He hates everything Tyler Perry does and, well…he just hates everything. After slinging his hate toward “Django,” Jamie Foxx just had to tell is like it was and called him “shady.” Doesn’t Spike just LOOK like a hug would change his life?
Jermaine Jackson Jacksun
Being a part of the most famous family since the Kennedys carries a lot of pressure and Jermaine doesn’t seem to handle it well. He’s changed his name to a brighter version of the infamous “Jackson” surname and claims it has nothing to do with the way the family has been ripped apart since Michael’s death. There’s nothing like a mother’s hug and with Katherine and Jermaine on the outs, he’s in dire need of her embrace.
Drake
I guess when you’re looking up from the “bottom,” everything looks like it’s much better than what you have, no? Drake is known for being one of the most emotional rappers out and it’s funny to think that emotion adds to his success. No matter how much success he gains, Drake always seems to find a grey cloud to stand under. Maybe he should stop drowning his sorrows in strippers? Those aren’t the types of hugs he needs.
Chris Brown
Breezy’s antics stretch far and wide. Throwing things through windows at “Good Morning America,” to this $10 fight, Chris Brown makes me tired. He acts like the kid that grew up never getting hugs or any type of affection. Unfortunately, Brown grew up around domestic violence, making it a norm for the “Beautiful People” singer, however that didn’t put a strain on his and his mother’s relationship. I’m sure she showed her son so much love, but apparently Breezy needs exceed her ability. It ain’t easy being Breezy, I guess. Rihanna’s hugs aren’t enough.
