BET Announces Performers For Prince Tribute For BET Awards
BET Announces Prince Tribute With Sheila E, D’Angelo, Janelle Monae & The Roots
BET announced their highly anticipated Prince tribute on what would have been his 58th birthday and Sheila E, D’Angelo, Janelle Monae and The Roots are among the lineup of entertainers who will pay homage to the late legend on June 26.
This tribute comes after Madonna’s controversial performance of “Nothing Compares 2 U” and “Purple Rain” at the Billboard Awards. Not even Stevie Wonder and Questlove could save the doomed from the start of production.
BET shaded Billboard when they tweeted, “Yeah, we saw that. Don’t worry. We got you.”
Now it’s time to put their money where their mouth is and it looks like they’re off to a great start. Janelle was one of Prince’s favorite artists. We can’t wait to see how it all go down.
In other BET news, Tracee Ellis Ross and Anthony Anderson were tapped to host the show for the second year in a row.
