Jill Scott Spreads Her Black Girl Magic On InterludesLIVE
With a highly anticipated new album, Woman, on the way, Jill Scott blessed #TeamBeautiful and fans with an exclusive and intimate concert in Washington D.C.
Jill Scott hit the Interludes stage to perform her classic song “It’s Love” off her debut album Who is Jill Scott? Words and Sounds, Volume 1.
During her set, Jill discussed the impact of growing up in Philadelphia on her music.
“I’ve lived a lot of places since I lived in Philly,” she explained. “Philly is always in my heart, wherever I go. It is the mother of a lot of me in a lot of ways. The music, you know comes from Philly, Philly sound. The appreciation of storytelling: you know I went to Temple University and I went to the Philadelphia High School for Girls and I have a lot of friends and family there.”
One couple even said they fall deeper in love with the help of Jill Scott.
“We saw Ms. Scott in concert when we were in Kansas City, MO. I tell every body, my wife Nancy and I fell in love again a second time and this time it’s a third time.”
