That Awkward Moment When The KKK And The ‘Black Educators’ Have Overlapping Rallies

One of the greatest freedoms The Constitution grants, courtesy of the First Amendment, is “the right to petition the government for a redress of grievances.” And throughout the history of the United States, arguably this right has achieved progress for different communities. And like it or not, it is a right that belongs to everybody. And the nation, I think, is ultimately better for it. All that being said, things can get super awkward when the self-described largest KKK group – the Loyal White Knights of the Ku Klax Klan – is holding a demonstration outside of the South Carolina State House at the same time as an African-AMerican group called the ‘Black Educators.’
According to Reuters, The ‘Black Educators’ will begin their protest at around noon and will end at 4 p.m., local time. The group’s focus will be to redress racial inequality which they insist is not removed simply by the removal of the Confederate flag. The group is reportedly run by one James Evan Muhammed who is a former director of the New Black Panther Party. The KKK’s protest will go on from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and will protest what they see as a culture that is increasingly becoming anti-White. They are expected to have 200 people. (Apparently the largest Klan only has 200 people coming to protest? Welp.)
‘Black Educators’ group leader Muhammed has said that he will not disrupt the KKK”s protest. We hope the KKK will not disrupt theirs either. We’ll keep an eye on this story for any developments.
