Prince Announces Tour & Double #1 Albums In Less Than 140 Characters
Prince is a man who does not waste his words…and really he doesn’t have to say anything for the world to know how magnificent he is. But in a brief press release, The Purple One proclaimed that he’s perched atop two charts at this very moment! Who’s surprised?
The music legend has enjoyed several perches at the top of music charts — including five number one hits (count ’em: “When Doves Cry,” “Kiss,” “Let’s Go Crazy,” “Cream” and “Batdance”) — but he’s just snagged his first #1 Rock album thanks to his collaborative album with his all-woman band, 3rdEyeGirl, titled “Plectrumelectrum.” His latest solo release, “Art Official Age” has also become the #1 R&B Album!
Prince casually came for everyone’s edges when he signed off the announcement with, “Tour Info Forthcoming.” After #TeamBeautiful got a chance to see his magic in person at this year’s Essence Music Fest, which marked the 30th Anniversary of his smash album “Purple Rain,” we’re waiting by the computer with bated breath to snag tickets once the dates are released!
