BEAUTIFUL NEWS: Believe It Or Not, Missouri Has Good Cops Too
Not every cop in Missouri has the desire to shoot to kill Black people. One particular cop, Officer Huth, in Kansas City, Missouri has started going viral for the above snapshot of him holding a little Autistic boy who was found wandering the streets alone around 1 a.m., wearing only a diaper and socks.
While officers searched for the family, the little boy slept in Officer Huth’s arms. I love this picture taken by 41 Action News – KSHB-TV reporter Sarah Hollenbeck. The good Missouri cops that actually do exist, reunited the boy with his family. It’s heartwarming to see this kind of humanity coming from Missouri, especially in a time like this when the Mike Brown murder and subsequent protests have made Missouri seem like the most racist and violent place to live, when it’s not.
The boy’s mother told police he was supposed to be staying with his aunt, who lives down the street from where he was found. The mother said she was getting ready for work when she saw the news report involving her son. She called her sister, who then realized the boy was missing. The DFS did not issue any citations, but they will be investigating.
We want to keep you posted on what’s going on in Ferguson, Missouri, but it’s a beautiful thing to see that there’s still love in a place that’s seen a lot of hate lately.
