Beyonce Donates 500K To Chime For Change
Beyonce isn’t just a gorgeous face, amazing entertainer, or poster child for the most sought-after body of all time, she’s totally a humanitarian. Last night, Mrs. Carter visited the Gucci store in NYC to attend the Chime For Change one-year anniversary event where she donated a whopping $500,000 to the charity that was founded by Gucci. Chime For Change promotes “Education. Health. Justice. For every girl. Every woman. Everywhere. Because none of us can move forward if half of us are held back.”
Bey ditched her booty-length braids and debuted a new hairstyle. Blue’s mom looked sexy, yet elegant in a white Gucci jumpsuit with a plunging neckline. Can we say yasss!
Bey has always been an advocate for women’s rights so it makes perfect sense that she’d lend her star power to the Chime For Change organization. According to a press release from Gucci:
Beyoncé committed to donate $500,000 to fund Chime For Change projects for girls and women in the areas of Education, Health and Justice as follows:
EDUCATION: $125,000 to support 100 school girls at Shining Hope for Communities (SHOFCO) schools in Kenya for one year.
· HEALTH: $125,000 to provide 320 Embrace infant warmers to 100 rural health facilities in 11 Millennium Village sites across 10 countries in sub-Saharan Africa (Mali, Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Senegal, Ghana, Tanzania, Rwanda, Malawi, and Ethiopia). The Embrace infant warmers will help more than 1,900 at-risk newborns survive and thrive.
· JUSTICE: $125,000 to provide 600 Sisters in Strength Youth Leaders and Alumni in New York City with the critical educational and mentoring support, job training, counseling services, and resources they need to successfully navigate and graduate from high school and college through Girls for Gender Equity.
· JUSTICE: $125,000 to provide 25 human trafficking survivors in Los Angeles with counseling, medical care, legal services, and individual recovery treatment to rebuild their lives through the Coalition to Abolish Slavery & Trafficking (CAST).
Bey and Solange were all smiles at the exclusive soirée. Solo even jumped on the turntables to flex her DJ skills. In related news, the “Drunk In Love” singer flashed her summer time fine on the cover of T Magazine.

Remember that little rumor about Jennifer Lopez’s man Casper Smart being gay and all? (We think J. Lo may be the only person who didn’t know he played for the other team.) Well, the transgender woman, Sofie Vissa, who claimed to be having inappropriate interactions with Smart, did an interview with Women’s Day detailing the extent of their “relationship.”
“I sent him like five or six pictures,” Vissa said. “There were a couple of semi-explicit [ones] and then the last one I was completely nude. And he ‘liked’ the post,” she added. “I’d do hashtags on Instagram… to get a lot of followers I’d put #TS or #Shemale or #transgendered on them,” she said in the interview. “I remember I put those hashtags on one of my photos and when I went back to look at my phone I’d got a request from Casper.”
When Vissa asked Smart why he never “liked” any pics on her Instagram account, he responded “Because a lot of people monitor what I like. And I think telling you is better, don’t you?”
Casper later reportedly asked the model, “I wanna see more, what you got?’” To which Vissa replied, “‘What do you wanna see? My smile?’”
