Mariah Talks Growing Up Bi-Racial, Eminem Beef & Babies

Mariah recently spoke to the media about what she went through growing up bi-racial:

“Growing up and being half-black, half-white, I felt weird; I didn’t look like anybody. My friends were all different from me,” Mariah told StyleList.com of her childhood insecurities. “No one knew how to fix my hair. My facial features stood out. And I know we [mixed people] all say that. But even though I’ve grown since, some of those things still remain with me.”

The singer also told the NY Daily News about how she never thought she would live this long:

Honestly, I never thought I’d live this long. I always thought that I wouldn’t be here at this point. I was thinking, ‘Okay, I’ve got another year of my life left. This has got to be the end of it,’” she revealed. “Finally, he was like, “Stop talking like that.”

Meanwhile, Page Six sources spotted MiMi out this week looking tipsy and barely making it out of the restaurant. We’re not sure if it was the alcohol or the stilettos:

Mariah Carey did not need a nightcap the other night at One Little West 12th. According to a witness, Carey – whose album, “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel,” is just out – showed up to the restaurant at “1:30 a.m. with her brother and a few bodyguards and was quite out of it. When she exited her black Maybach, she tripped twice and had to grab hold of one of her guards so she wouldn’t fall. She ordered a bottle of champagne but she could barely speak.” A source close to the singer tells Page Six, “She was probably wobbly because she was wearing 7-inch Louboutins. She had just completed 18 hours of press. That’s tough to do.”

Im in…. read, processing….processing….processing…. blah blah blah… look im a darker skinned female but I always had ” mixed girl, good hair” my ethnicity also makes my facial features that of “mixed herritage” … I got made fun of all the time cause I didnt look like all the other black kids…. but you know what, i developed a tough skin and got over it… im out

that’s my girl 2frosty4u03! exactly! and mzthick, no, in that interview/story she didn’t discuss him, but he is who that song obsessed is about..but she has been writing songs about him for yrs, she has a song about him on her charmbracelet album..anyways, i am just sick of hearing about her childhood, woes. i am not saying mixed ppl don’t go thru some s**t, but i am personally tired of hearing about hers. there are many mixed ppl in the industry that went thru terrible s**t, but u don’t hear them still talkin about it, know halle berry went through some madness, but u don’t hear about it. i actually like m.c., i think she is beautiful, and her body right now is lookin right! and her & nick make a hot couple..but outside of that, i’m sick of hearin about her childhood period. again, my point before everybody gets mad: there are alot of mixed ppl in the industry who went through bulls**t, but you don’t hear them constantly repeating it…i hope they have babies soon.

i’ve never seen someone so obsessed with being “not herself”…i need for mc to get herself together and quit playing. yes…we knew you were half breed before you did…so get used to it..like everyone else is…omg! again..what is wrong with people? she is killing me…wanting all this attention..you had us with..you treated me kind….sweet just a lil..carried me…..so on an so on…damn! accept you for you, if you can find yourself again mc….and leave em alone…we heard the tapes…never lie on your coochie..if you did it..admit it and life will be so much better…keep it real mc. all i’m saying.

As a mother of a daughter with Mariah’s exact hair, complexion and that creates
other *identity* issues, I know FIRST HAND what it is like (pure hell) trying to get in where you fit in when it comes to the black community. They don’t accept you and view you as an outsider trying to *fit* in. Lighter to fair skinned complexioned kids do much better and fair much better in either a more white and or mixed community than they do in an already issue plagued, black one. These beautiful children will always have to prove themselves worthy to be considered one of *us* simply based on the color of their skin, color of their eyes, the shape of their nose and hair type which is seen more as *different* than as the same. It was pure hell for my daughter, and I really didn’t realize the extent and degree to which she was subjugated to such hate (and envy) until after she’d graduated high school and became grown.

Not only was it hard for her, but as her mother, I had one so called girlfriend (finally) tell me that she thought I was *tainted* (and so was my beautiful baby) for having a baby with a white man! WDF?!? What fkg stupidity!

For the person who doesn’t know what being *mixed* is, it is anyone born to two people who are of different ethnicities. With her father having a mixed heritage and not being fully white, automatically gave Mariah hers. So, yeah, she is most definitely a mixed, bi-racial…or more accurately, a TRI-racial child…but never the less, she is both beautiful, inside and out. I wish her and Nick nothing but the best and all of the happiness in the world!

YEA, TO MUCH HOSTILITY ON HERE TO COMMENT ANYTHING OTHER THAN… I’m BIRACIAL & proud of it—> I GOT THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS! Don’t really know too much about the Eminem diss/saga, but I see it still continues… LOL! If only we got paid by the celebrities we so intensely follow up on, we’d be just as rich.

So, Is she or is she NOT pregnant? And do we really care if (Em & Mimi) f**ked? …That’s the real question—- I didn’t think so.

Angry hugh? Well like I said, I’m happy with who I am so form whatever opinion you will. The fact still remains that you are quick to run your mouth about facts you are unaware of. Oh and you were not the only one to comment on her ethnicity, so please don’t think that was all pointed to you, if it was I would have specifically said your name, like you were so quick to do just now. And please don’t get it twisted; I feel no need to argue back and forth with you. As I mentioned stupidity irritates me. I don’t have the patience to try and change your mind, but in the end when I spoke I know what I was talking about, when you spoke you quoted FALSE FACTS. No I don’t want to rip your hair out, fight with you, or go back and forth either. In ten minutes I will go to work, and never think of you again. The only reason I’m even on here is because I got a bunch of notes from sista’s giving me props for stating the truth in my original post. So if you don’t like Mariah that’s your business, but please don’t authorize yourself to speak on my state of happiness. I’m not only cool with who I am, I thank God for who I am. I have the authority to speak on biracial issues, because not only have I lived it, but I also did several papers in school about the issue. So I’ve actually researched the issued, interviewed several other multicultural people, and gathered FACTS.
