I’m just wondering why everyone is making such a big deal about this. This is NOT the first time this has happed on the MTV awards nor in an award show period. I remember when Flava Flav and ODB from the Wu-Tang Clan would jump on stage, Tupac did it one time too and people laughed and forgot about it by the end of the day. I have to disagree. I have plenty of close white friends. I am aware of the fact that race is a very touchy subject. Nobody denies that Kanye was wrong but think about it. If this incident would’ve happened on BET how much coverage would it have received? Kanye and Taylor will triple record sales. Kanye was in an accident that was life threatening. I think it’s unfair, I think it’s ignorant and how dare we (black people) suddenly become the moral judge – the moral hand of what’s good and decent when it comes to race relations and racial tolerance after our own hypocritical history? No one pulls the race card more often in this country than US! We do it when we need to justify our shortcomings, we do it when we need to redirect attention away from us and we have done it on this topic numerous times. We pull that card because we are under the illussion that it’s our ace in the hole, our secret weapon, our proverbial, “get out of jail free card,” the card that we ignorantly think frightens white folks and have them shaking in their boots!

What difference does it make if Taylor Swift is white? If she had been Latina, would Kanye still be in the wrong? The answer is yes.
