…if this affair had been going on for more than a decade, that means she was a minor when they began the relationship. If it was sexual then, why isn’t he locked up?

I did some research because a few posters made a (valid) point that they are not blood-related. HOWEVER, according to some of the online sources, E’dina is the granddaughter of Morgan’s first wife – whom he and his second wife Myrna raised since she was a young child. Morgan’s first wife is Jeanette Adair Bradshaw, who had one (biological) child with Morgan and a daughter whom he ADOPTED.

Okay, first issue: he adopted his first wife’s daughter, which means that by law, E’dina Hines (his g/f) should legally be his grand-child. I am not sure of how incest laws work, but the fact that he adopted his wife’s child says it all.

Also, if he raised this young woman (E’dina) since she was a child, he crossed the line. By taking her in and raising her, he assumed a paternal role. Instead, he apparently abused his position of authority. This girl was much too young to know what she wanted and even if she initiated anything, he was the adult–he should have said no. From what I read, his wife Myrna found out and he promised to stop his relationship with his step-granddaughter but did not.

@ Azrael3 – I heard the exact same thing on the radio yesterday morning. The granddaughter told (Myrna, I guess?) that he was trying to get at her and he said he would leave her alone. He didn’t! I’m so disappointed in Morgan Freeman. I realize that I had already watched his movies since all of this has happened, but now that I know, it will be so difficult to watch any of his movies without thinking about what he has done; and I don’t know if I can see any new movies with him in them.

I think that IF E’dina Hines and he have continued the relationship and she wants him to marry her and father her child, it is because of one of two reasons: (1) he has had so much influence and power over her thinking that she has been brainwashed into thinking that she loves him (a very sick kind of love, mind you); or (2) she finally got her head out of the fog but realized that she can take advantage of what has happened. She probably feels like she is damaged goods, that she spent all these years with this man and nothing was done so now she needs to secure her future. In a way, I can’t blame her.
